Proverbs 1:7-9, 2:1-11
Fall is here, and our Sunday School programs are beginning again. What should we teach?
What should we teach in times when the violence and murders of this world seem ever closer to home? What should we teach in a time when poverty is rampant not only abroad in the so-called 3rd world but in our own nation and our next door neighbor nation? What should we teach to prepare ourselves for a business world which concentrates wealth in fewer and fewer hands? What should we teach in a world where wrongs committed years, decades, centuries ago are nurtured and passed on from generation to generation – making peace between individuals and nations alike nearly impossible? What should we teach on a day when many remember in silent horror the horrific events of “9/11” exactly 15 years ago? What should we teach in a world where constant armed conflict rages in 67 countries around the world? What should we teach to prepare leaders for tomorrow in this world?
