This Sunday we’ll begin a sermon mini-series, The Words of the Prophets. In the coming weeks, we’ll reflect on passages from Malachi, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, and consider how God’s ways were revealed in various times and places. As a starting point, we’ll begin in Luke’s Gospel, with Jesus and his inaugural sermon in Nazareth – a sermon that finds it beginning in a prophetic text. How did the words of the prophets intersect with Jesus’ life and ministry? How do the words of the prophets continue to speak to us today?
