Text: Romans 3:21-26
Jesus saves us from our own sins and the power of the devil. But according to the metaphor of penal substitution, he also saves us from the wrath of God. And how does this work? Paradoxically, it is God the Father who sent Jesus to satisfy his divine wrath through the provision of a human sacrifice for sin.
Divine Wrath? Human sacrifice? Can we still make sense of this striking picture?
