Scripture: Luke 21: 34-38

In our worship this Sunday we begin journeying with Jesus through his passion. We begin where Christians have often begun: by recognizing our need for mercy, crying Kyrie Eleison, “Lord, have mercy,” or, as it has been translated more recently, “Sir, take it easy.” Perhaps we also need to take it easy on ourselves.
