Exodus 3:1 – 6; Mark 12:18 – 27

Moses, an adopted prince of Egypt, is in exile for murder and herding sheep in the Sinai wilderness. One day he sees a bush that is burning, but oddly, it does not burn up. When he goes to investigate, the voice of God speaks to him from the bush, asking him to do a very difficult job. Moses doesn’t want the job, and asks God what his name is; a long and amazing dialogue, about oppression and suffering, about death and life, follows.
