As we continue our fall series, Then Jesus Said…, we encounter the parable of the widow and the unjust judge in Luke 18. In this text, Jesus uses a story to teach a profound lesson on the link between prayer and working for justice. As people of faith, some of us tend towards prioritizing our interior spiritual life, while others of us tend towards prioritizing acts of service and advocacy. This parable suggests the two are intimately tied together. What happens when we separate them? What happens when we follow Jesus’ teaching about living out prayerful activism?
