On the sixth Sunday of Easter, Jesus speaks with his disciples about the coming Holy Spirit. He promises that he will not leave his disciples orphaned, but that they will have an Advocate, who will be with them, forever. On Mother’s Day, when we remember those who carry out mothering ministries among us, we will also reflect on Jesus’ hopeful promise of a Mothering Spirit.
