Luke 22: 24-27; Galatians 5: 13-15, 25-6:5
In a typical NT theme, Paul turns the common sense notions of freedom, privilege and authority on their head by stressing that our freedom and spiritual strength are used to serve others. I want to look at the relationship between spiritual attainment and freedom by investigating the role that love plays as a litmus test of true freedom. We will see that maturity is the prerequisite for freedom and love, since freedom is a risky and uncertain venture–it does, however, offer the richly rewarding opportunity to partner with God in His work in the world.
