LMC News – December 17, 2021

 December 17, 2021

SAVE THE DATE! LMC’s annual Study Conference will be from February 4 – 6, 2022. Professor Delmar Epp from CMU will be speaking. Stay tuned for more information!

A 4th year university student connected to our church is looking for a place to live in Edmonton for the next semester. If you know about a single or shared apartment, or a family with an extra room, please talk to Jeffery E. or the church office.

LMC is looking to enter a team in Camp Evergreen’s Annual Pond Hockey Tournament.

We need participation on 2 levels, players and sponsors. The hockey format is 3 on 3 (no goalies).

If you would like to be a player, please contact Abe T. Not all of us would be willing to lace up the skates, but donations would be welcome from everyone.

Date: Saturday January 15, 2022 at Camp Evergreen.
The registration fee is already committed, so every dollar donated will help the kids at Camp Evergreen.

During the holiday season, many of our partner organizations send us “Season’s Greetings,” notes of gratitude for our support, updates about their year, and information about current needs and special projects. This year, we received cards and letters from: Multiply, Mennonite World Conference, Mennonite Disaster Service, Mennonite Central Committee, Camp Evergreen, the Canadian Mennonite, the Edmonton Food Bank, Mennonite Church Alberta, the Alberta Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, Mennonite Mutual Insurance, Cornerstone Counseling, the King’s University, Canadian Mennonite University, the Edmonton Centre for Newcomers and the Mennonite Benevolent Society. If you are still thinking about a compassionate financial donation, consider one of these organizations and the good work they do in our city and around the world.

  • Tuesday, December 21: Christmas memories, traditions, readings and music. Share something you treasure, old or new, of the season.
  • Tuesday, December 28: A free for all discussion of whatever you’d like – no host, no chair, just drop in virtually for a visit!

If you would like to receive a weekly reminder of the topic in Coffee and Conversation, some advanced notice of upcoming topics, and some supplemental materials, please e-mail Anke and ask to be added to her mailing list.
