Ecclesiastes: An Introduction – Justin Majeau

 January 6, 2013

Zechariah 8:16-17 ;  John 8:31-36

In Shakespeare’s King Lear, in the last act, the good and the bad, the wise and the fool, the weak and the strong, all die alike and as Edgar comes to pull the curtain down what he says is this:

“The weight of this sad time we must obey
Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say.”

The preacher in Ecclesiastes needed no such advice, for he spoke exactly what he felt and not what others expected him to say and for that in our coming series we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
