Hidden in Plain Sight – Sherri Guenther Trautwein

 January 7, 2024

The story of the Magi centers on a group of “outsiders” who follow a star in search of Jesus. This star shines bright enough and long enough for them to travel for months, even years (!), before they find the one they are searching for. Surprisingly, Herod appears to be unaware of the star and it fills him with fear! How could Herod have missed what the Magi saw so clearly? This week, we’ll reflect on this final piece of the Christmas story, along with Paul’s words to the Ephesians, about God’s mysteries, hidden in plain sight.

Scripture readings:
Isaiah 60:1-6
Psalm 72:1-7, 10-14
Ephesians 3:1-12
Matthew 2:1-12
