Scripture: 1 Samuel 17

Our God is so big, so strong and so mighty there’s only a few things I don’t really expect him to do. What are adults supposed to do with children’s stories, with childlike imagination? The postmodern Goliath is meaninglessness, despair. This giant is less conspicuous than the one faced by David because the battlefield is cluttered with a circus of pleasant distractions, but the menace still looms and there can be no conscientious objection to this confrontation.
