This Sunday our congregation will be celebrating Peace Sunday! During a season of remembrance, we set aside time to reflect on our call to work for peace in a world filled with violence and war. The image that will guide and inspire us this Sunday is that of a quilt – a labour of love that is both beautiful and practical. It takes many small cuts and stitches, and countless hours, to bring it to completion. Sometimes, one wonders if so many little bits of cloth and thread could ever turn into a warm comforter. And yet, with time and dedication, they do. So it is as we work for peace and long to see the revealing of the new things God is doing among us. We will hear words from the prophet Isaiah to help us catch a glimpse of these hopeful promises. We are also pleased to welcome the MCC Thrift Shop to our service to give us an update on their work.
