In the Community

Mennonite Central Committee
  • Will you get READY, get SET and GO for MCC Alberta this summer? There’s still time to join! Rally with us to raise $100,000 to support people in vulnerable situations through relief, development and peacebuilding. Organize an event or set up a personal challenge and help fuel this summer’s fundraiser! Every move matters! Please note that most Ready, Set, Go participants will now be found on Canada Helps, due to some technical challenges with the previously used platform. Visit mcc.org/events/ready-set-go for a link to the participants on Canada Helps or to sign up!
  • Answer a calling that is more than a career. Are you ready to lead MCC Alberta’s flagship thrift shop in Calgary as General Manager? Use your retail leadership experience to make a meaningful difference. Lead a successful thrift ministry, support staff and volunteers, and help turn donated goods into hope and opportunity for people in our communities and around the world, all in the name of Christ. Apply today.

  • Save the Date! Join us for MCC Alberta’s Annual General Meeting on Saturday Sept 26 from 10am to 12pm at the Calgary office and online. More details to follow.
  • Grow Hope 2026: Our generous Alberta farmers will, once again, be growing 344 acres of crops to benefit the world. Don’t despair, make a difference! You can Grow Hope and help to provide daily bread for people around the world. Sponsor acres or a part of an acre of Alberta farmland ($350/acre) and our Grow Hope farmers will grow and sell the crop. Proceeds go into MCC’s account at the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and are used for food relief, agricultural training, and livelihood support around the world! Go to mcc.org/growhopealberta to learn more.
  • For information about MCC announcements, or questions about any MCC activity, call the MCC Alberta office at 403-275-6935.

Camp Evergreen

We have several volunteer openings in our kitchen throughout the remainder of the summer. Our kitchen team serves hundreds of meals each week, and these volunteers make it possible for every camper and guest to be well cared for. You’ll work alongside a wonderful team, build relationships, and play a direct role in creating an environment where lives are being transformed by the power of Jesus.

Here are the weeks we still need 3 to 4 people:

  • July 26-31

  • August 1-3 (our Staff Retreat – this is an amazing way to bless our staff!)

  • August 9-14

  • August 31-September 4

Would you prayerfully consider serving with us in the kitchen? Get some friends together to relive your 20s! Your willingness to help could make all the difference to us.
