Saturday, October 14 at 6:00 pm, the Youth Group will be going to the Edmonton Corn Maze! If you would like more details, please contact Pastor Kevin.

Friday, October 20 at 7:00 pm, the Youth Group will meet for a Movie Night together at the church!


The Widows & Widowers Support Group will meet on Oct. 18 at 1:30 pm for fellowship and snacks.


The Lendrum Piecemakers will be quilting at the MCC Thift Store on Wednesday, October 25 from 10-5. They would love to have help in their work! If you can tie knots and would like to contribute to the quilting project, please contact Fran L. for more information.


Welcome to the 2023/2024 program of Adult Christian Education at Lendrum Mennonite Church! This ten-month schedule is presented after the Worship Service on most Sundays, getting underway at 11:15 and winding up at noon. Here is a look at our upcoming sessions:

Sunday, Oct. 15—Membership 1: Adrienne W. and Doug Z. lead us through a discussion of what church membership means for us.

Sunday, Oct. 22—War and Violence in the Bible 2: Pastor Sherri will lead us in a continued discussion of her PhD work on how Christians have reckoned with the imagery of war and violence in the Bible.

Sunday, Oct. 29—Membership 2: Adrienne W. and Doug Z. will continue to lead us in our ongoing discussion of what church membership means for us.

Mennonite Central Committee

Buckets of Thanks. This Thanksgiving, help us send 2,000 relief buckets to people affected by disaster and conflict in places like Ukraine, Jordan, Cuba and Zambia. Please click here to find out how you can help with Buckets of Thanks.

Circles of Support and Accountability Program is in need of volunteers to work with people who have left prison and are reintegrating into society. If you’re interested in helping and can commit 1-2 hours per week, please contact CoSA Coordinator Ken Grahlman at kengrahlman@mccab.ca.

In Tune: Finding Harmony in Polarized Communities Save the date! On November 3 & 4, join MCC Alberta for a weekend to engage in conversations around the polarization we are feeling in our congregations and communities. The King’s University

Listening Together in the Spirit. An ecumenical conversation and fellowship event, regarding synodality, has been organized and will take place at The King’s University (9125-50 Street, Edmonton) on Friday, October 20 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  The theme is Listening Together in the Spirit.  The conversation will include local Anglican, Orthodox, Reformed, Mennonite and Catholic voices. Pastor Sherri has been invited to be the Mennonite representative.


Canadian Mennonite University

J.J. Thiessen Lecture – You are invited to hear Dr. Willie James Jennings of Yale Divinity School present his talk entitled, Gathering the pieces that remain: Weaving life together from the fragments of faith, race, and land.  A Time of Reckoning: Telling the CMU Story – Join a two-day symposium on October 27 and 28. Featuring short reflections and dialogue with CMU faculty, alumni, and church voices, participants will investigate what CMU is today and where it’s going in light of its mission. More details and free registration here.


Bridge Building Ministries 

Soup and Bannock Lunches. Soup and Bannock Friday noon lunches resume Friday October 13 at Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society in the gym. All community members are welcome to join. It is an opportunity to bring Indigenous and settler people together, to break bread together and get to know each others’ stories.

A Common Word Interfaith Dialogue. The Annual Christian-Muslim ACWAB (A Common Word Alberta) interfaith dialogue is happening Saturday October 28. Learn more and register here.


Camp Evergreen

Selah Retreat. From November 10-11, take a pause from your busy day to day to come dive into God’s word together with others. Worship, learn, fellowship, and rest during this one night retreat at Camp Evergreen.

Pond Hockey Tournament. On January 13, join our 14th annual 3 on 3 Pond Hockey Fundraiser! Bring your friends and come lace up the skates to support Camp Evergreen’s campership aid fun and send more kids to camp.

Winterfest Family Camp. February 16-18, join us for Winterfest Family Camp, a 2-night camp designed specifically for families. Camp includes wide games, fireside, chapel times, worship through music, skating, snowshoeing, and all of our amazing activities. Come connect with other families, explore creation, and grow in your faith.
