Welcoming the Stranger: The Poverty Studies Summer Institute is a unique study opportunity that brings together practitioners, students and community members into an intimate learning community to explore the causes and impacts of poverty and best practices in how to reduce and end it.  MCC Alberta will be presenting “Welcoming the Stranger: Theology and Praxis in Migration and Resettlement on May 17 at Ambrose University.

Workshops and Experiences: Book a learning experience with one of our staff for your small group, community group, school group, or youth group. Our workshops and experiences introduce practical, engaging approaches to the inspiring work of relief, development and peace. KAIROS

Community members who are 18-30 are invited to join a cohort of  changemakers for the KAIROS Strengthening Voices for a Just Transition project. This is an opportunity to learn from climate experts,  Indigenous leaders, and global partners and acquire new skills in climate  advocacy and political engagement. A commitment to attend the one-day Dialogue (May/June), join online trainings (July-Sept) and meet with decision-makers (Sept-Nov) is required. An honorarium will be provided. MennoMedia

Celebrate 500 years of Anabaptism with the Anabaptist Community Bible! This study Bible features commentary from 60 Anabaptist scholars, biblical insights from 16th-century Anabaptists, and marginal notes from nearly 600 study groups from Anabaptists around the globe (including a group from LMC). Richard Eaton Singers

Join the Richard Eaton Singers on May 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm for a performance of Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor, begun by Mozart in 1782 and completed by Robert Levin. The concert will also include works by two contemporary Canadian composers, Andrew Balfour and Zachary Wadsworth. Mennonite Historical Society of Alberta 

MHSA Spring Conference: La Crete & Low German Mennonite History. All are invited to the Spring Conference in La Crete, AB, from May 30 –  June 2, 2024. Registration for those not riding the bus is $75, including local tours and some meals. For those taking the bus, which picks up in Calgary, Didsbury, Red Deer, and Edmonton, the full cost is $250.
