In the community

Mennonite Central Committee

Support the Relief Sale: The MCC Alberta Relief Sale is on June 15 at Bergthal Mennonite church, and volunteers and auction items are needed. You can support relief, development and peace by giving a gift to the auction, by giving your time to the event, or both! Visit mcc.org/abreliefsale to get involved.

Rwanda Learning Tour Stories: A group of 15 Albertans, including 2 MCC staff members, recently returned from a learning trip to visit MCC partners in Rwanda and see their Conservation Agriculture and Peace building work. If you would like to have someone come to your church/group to share these stories, please contact Donita at donitawiebeneufeld@mccab.ca.

Indigenous Neighbours: The history between Mennonites and Indigenous peoples includes deep injustices. As we grapple with this history, MCC seeks to walk in friendship and solidarity with Indigenous peoples globally. Our program director is available to speak to your congregation or lead a learning experience. Contact Jose Luis Moraga at joseluismoraga@mccab.ca or 403-998-1690. Download a flyer for learning experiences here.

Provide critical relief items for families caught in conflict this Easter. The civil war in Myanmar isn’t making the news anymore, but you can reach out to families caught in conflict and let them know they haven’t been forgotten. Donate at mcc.org/easter-email.

Intersections. The Spring 2024 issue of Intersections, on the topic “Embracing a Commitment to Christ’s Way of Peace,” is available now. Read it online here!
