Church Family Happenings

 June 2, 2023

Please join us for our last Loaves & Fishes before the summer, Saturday, June 3 @ 4:00 pm. Bring some food to share for a potluck, join in some contemporary worship music, and participate in some activities for families. Questions? Connect with Aimee R.

From the library: In the foyer, there’s a table of books which have been removed from the library. They are available for anyone who wants them, for a small donation. Donations will be funneled back into the library budget.

Coming soon for your summer reading! A display of books by Lendrum Authors. Check the bulletin board and the display area on the desk for recommendations.

On Saturday, June 17, the Facilities Commission invites you to their annual Work Bee! Come lend your skills to cleaning and fixing up our church building, and fellowship with your church family by working together. There will be a 9 am start time.

Mark your calendars and plan ahead for our Sunday School picnic, June 25 following the service! All ages are invited out to the green space behind the church for a sweet snack, a time of fellowship, and some classic Sunday School picnic games. Come celebrate a successful year of learning and growing together.

Please check your weekly bulletin for prayer requests and other church family news.

“Together, we learn, heal and shine.” –  UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres
Every year, the UNHCR invites communities around the world to remember the plight of the 103 million people around the globe, displaced by violent conflict and war. The Roots on Six Collaborative is committed to honouring the stories and contributions of Refugees and Indigenous community members in our city in the context of Treaty Six principles – of sharing stories, journeys, and the land we live on, while holding intentional space for healing for all.
Roots on Six is located in Treaty 6 territory, the traditional gathering place, travelling route and home for many Indigenous Peoples including the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Dene, Saulteaux, and many others whose histories, languages, and cultures continue to influence the vibrancy and wholeness of our community. The project collaborators include Islamic Family and Social Services, Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society, Catholic Social Services, Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers, Mennonite Church Alberta, and the City of Edmonton.
