Church Family Happenings

 January 5, 2024

At LMC

This Sunday is the last week to bring donations to our Peace Tree! If you have donations of mittens, toques, scarves, or socks in adult sizes, please bring them in and leave them under the tree. We’re also accepting donations of gently-used footwear, particularly in larger mens’ sizes, to pass on to the Community Outreach Transit Teams.

Mark your calendars for Loaves & Fishes this month. We’ll meet on January 20 for an evening of fellowship and fun!

Christian Education for all ages resumes again this Sunday!

  • Children (grades 6 and under) in the sanctuary basement. After singing, ages 2-5 will be with Martha H, grades 1-3 will be with Denae B, and grades 4-6 will be with Sarah R.
  • Youth (grades 7-12) in the youth room (109) with Pastor Kevin.
  • Adult Christian Education (all ages) in Fellowship Hall.

Please check your weekly bulletin for prayer requests and other church family news.

Canadian Mennonite University

The 2024 John and Margaret Friesen Lecture Series begins Thursday, January 18. Titled “Revisiting the Mennonite Experience in Ukraine,” the two presentations will feature Dr. Nataliya Venger, Professor of History and Chair of the World History Department at the Dnipropetrovsk University of Ukraine. Visit cmu.ca/friesenlectures for more information.

Global Immersion

On December 23, Global Immersion hosted a live worship gathering guided by Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac at Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. Their liturgy of lament centered around the prophetic message that if Jesus was born today, he would be born under the rubble. If you would like to go back and watch this service, you can find it here.
