Guest lists for the Soup & Dessert Lunches are out in the foyer now! Please check the lists to see which date in March you are invited to attend. If you can’t make your week, please move yourself to a week you can attend! Church guests and young adults are invited to attend every week.

On February 28, join the Lendrum Piecemakers for their Great Winter Warm-Up! Drop in and out between 10 and 3 to help tie quilts for MCC. No prior experience is necessary; if you can tie a knot, you can help. There will be a soup lunch at noon, and coffee after cleanup!

Adult Christian Education meets after the Sunday Worship Service at 11:15 in Fellowship Hall! Here is a look at our upcoming sessions:
Sunday, Feb 25: No Adult Christian Ed—coffee with friends and neighbours
Sunday, Mar. 3: Pastor Sherri will continue her series on how we wrestle with war and violence in the Bible.

Mennonite Historical Society of Alberta

MHSA Spring Conference: La Crete & Low German Mennonite History. All are invited to the Spring Conference in La Crete, AB, from May 30 –  June 2, 2024. Registration for those not riding the bus is $75, including local tours and some meals. For those taking the bus, which picks up in Calgary, Didsbury, Red Deer, and Edmonton, the full cost is $250. The King’s University

Campus Visit Options and Information Nights. There are a few upcoming opportunities for prospective students to visit King’s and see what the university is all about! Check them out on one of these occasions:

Quandries Public Lecture Series. On the first Tuesday of every month, Dr. Jeff Dudiak hosts a public lecture series about contemporary moral dilemmas. On March 5, 2024 at 7:00 pm, Dr. Janet Wesselius will speak on “The Duty and the Danger of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.” Learn more and register here.

Summer Camps at King’s. Registration is open for sports, science, and arts camps at King’s! Camps are about exploring, creating, and developing skills in a fun, encouraging, faith-based environment. All camps are instructed by amazing undergrad student mentors. Learn more and register here.

Chester Ronning Centre

On the River. On March 15 at 7:00 pm, the Chester Ronning Centre and the Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre present On the River, a video ballad that tells the story of the Cree, Dene and Métis peoples from the Fort McKay First Nation. This 60-minute live performance combines original compositions by award winning musicians Asani and Maria Dunn with video interviews of the late Chief, Dorothy McDonald-Hyde, her family and community (video filmed and edited by Don Bouzek of Ground Zero Productions). Following the performance will be an Artist Talk including members of Dorothy’s family, Dayle Hyde and Rod Hyde. Learn more and get your free tickets here.
