Hungering for Hope. If you would still like to join the small group studies for Lent, you can still sign up! We will be using the resources written by Mennonite Spiritual Directors of Eastern Canada. Click here to sign up, or talk to Pastor Kevin for more information. If you would like to start your own group, please let Pastor Kevin know who the leader is, and he will send them the weekly guides!


Keep your eye out for your invitation to a Soup and Dessert luncheon on March 3, 10, or 17! The Caring Commission will establish hosts and guest lists for each date. Church guests and young adults are welcome to attend any or all of the lunches. 


On February 28, join the Lendrum Piecemakers for their Great Winter Warm-Up! Drop in and out between 10 and 3 to help tie quilts for MCC. No prior experience is necessary; if you can tie a knot, you can help! There will be a soup lunch at noon, and coffee after cleanup!


Adult Christian Education meets after the Sunday Worship Service at 11:15 in Fellowship Hall! Here is a look at our upcoming sessions:
Sunday, Feb 18: Family Day Long Weekend—no Christian Ed.
Sunday, Feb 25: No Adult Christian Ed—coffee with friends and neighbours

Four months to Relief Sale:The MCC Alberta Relief Sale is on June 15, and you can raise funds for relief, development and peace by donating an auction item. The Mustard Seed 

The Coldest Night of the Year. This winterrific family-friendly walk will take place on Saturday, Feb 24th to raise money for The Mustard Seed serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.  We will be walking Edmonton Strathcona – starting at Community Natural Foods on 104th with check in starting at 4pm and our 2km or 5km walk will kick off at 5pm. Team up, fundraise, walk, and gather for good! Everyone is welcome! CNOY is family-friendly – participants range in age from toddlers (with parents of course) to active seniors.

Mennonite Historical Society of Alberta

MHSA Spring Conference: La Crete & Low German Mennonite History. All are invited to the Spring Conference in La Crete, AB, from May 30 –  June 2, 2024. Registration for those not riding the bus is $75, including local tours and some meals. For those taking the bus, which picks up in Calgary, Didsbury, Red Deer, and Edmonton, the full cost is $250. Quandries Public Lecture Series. On the first Tuesday of every month, Dr. Jeff Dudiak hosts a public lecture series about contemporary moral dilemmas. On March 5, 2024 at 7:00 pm, Dr. Janet Wesselius will speak on “The Duty and the Danger of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.” Learn more and register here.

CommonWord 

Virtual launch of the “Together in Hope” resource collection for facing the climate crisis. On Thursday, February 29, 7:30 PM (CST) join the members of the MCCanada Climate Action group as they launch a new collection of resources designed to help us walk together to face the climate crisis in hope.
