MCC Alberta is seeking a new Communications and Donor Relations Director. The new CDR Director will lead a talented team dedicated to cultivating trust, building meaningful connections, sharing impact, and driving donor engagement through purpose-driven communication that reflects the heart of our mission. GO!100 has surpassed its $50,000 match! Let’s keep going for a victory lap! GO!100 is a great summer project for individuals and groups working together to raise support for the work of MCC. Visit mcc.org/events/abgo100 to meet the participants, see what they’re up to, and consider adding your support. 

Register for the MCC Alberta Golf Classic and luncheon. Golfers can register solo or in a team of 4. Not a golfer? For $30, you can join us for lunch after the game at 1:00pm at First Mennonite Church in Edmonton and learn about the work of MCC partner ANADESA in Guatemala. Up to $50,000 of donations will be matched for the work of MCC! The registration deadline is August 22. mcc.org/events/2025-mcc-alberta-golf-classic 

Join the School Kit Challenge! Help us pack 25,000 school kits this month! School kit packing is a great way to bring your family or community together while nurturing a love of learning in tomorrow’s leaders and peacemakers. Sign up to receive a fun guide that will help you teach kids how school supplies help students around the world receive an education. Post about it on social media and you could win a pizza party for your group!


Canadian Mennonite University 

Fall at CMU CMU’s annual alumni and community gathering takes place Saturday, September 20 from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Highlights include 30+ craft and food vendors, food trucks, activities and the Bubbleman for children, artist workshops, live music, reunions, an evening Song Feast and the MennoCross cyclocross race. Xplore – CMU’s Xplore extended education program investigates dimensions of the Christian faith, our world, and life in it—all without assignments or exams! Consider taking a course on depolarization, Anabaptists at 500, understanding Roman Catholicism, the book of Daniel, the book of Ruth and more. Courses begin September 23. Churches may consider hosting an Xplore watch party with people from your community. For course information and to register, visit cmu.ca/xplore.

Walk for YESS

Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS)’ Youth Support Centre is a 24/7, single-point-of-access to immediate and low-barrier physical, mental, cultural, and emotional health supports and a safe place to stay for youth aged 15-21 who are experiencing crisis in the Edmonton Metro Area. We’re excited to announce the first-ever Walk for YESS—a brand-new community fundraiser happening on Sunday, September 21, 2025 in support of youth in crisis. Register today, raise funds for YESS programs, and get ready for an amazing morning with community. All funds raised by our walkers go directly to programs supporting youth in crisis.
