Fear has become a constant companion in this day and age. It dominates the news cycle. It creeps into our relationships. It takes root in our hearts. Does the Bible still have a word to speak to us about the fears we face in our daily lives? This week we will be the first in a four-part series, Be Not Afraid, inspired by Samuel Wells’ book, Be not Afraid: Facing Fear with Faith. We will look at fear through a variety of lenses, beginning with the the Transfiguration of Jesus in Matthew 17.
